I know some Iowans, have for years, and have discussed both normal politics and things like birth control, choice and other misogynistic psuedo-issues with them on multiple occasions. Accordingly, I was fully prepared to see some element of anti-feminist voting, but nothing like this.
Not only did the Democrats cast less than 50% of their votes for Hillary, but out of 186,795 GOP votes cast, Carly Fiona got absolutely zero, none, zip, de nada. It is hard to estimate statewide percentages, because Democrats don’t report votes, but only hypothetical delegates, but if we assume that Dems and GOPs more or less had equal turn-out, then the woman hating vote was right up around 75%.
Really Iowa? Just Wow.
