The Daily Bucket is a regular feature of the Backyard Science group.  It is a place to note any observations you have made of the world around you. Insects, weather, meteorites, climate, birds and/or flowers.  All are worthy additions to the bucket.  Please let us know what is going on around you in a comment.  Include, as close as is comfortable for you, where you are located. Each note is a record that we can refer to in the future as we try to understand the patterns that are quietly unwinding around us.

  Castro Valley, October 2016

This is part of my ongoing project to document the changes in our yard from month to month. Previous versions are:   www.dailykos.com/... www.dailykos.com/... www.dailykos.com/... www.dailykos.com/... www.dailykos.com/... www.dailykos.com/... www.dailykos.com/... www.dailykos.com/... www.dailykos.com/... www.dailykos.com/...www.dailykos.com/...

So here we go:  We've had unseasonal amounts of rain and the weeds, mostly oxalis have taken over. Few things other than salvias are blooming, either. Then, since these photos, unseasonable cold, many nights of freezing temps, so we will see in a week or two how we did with that.

Out the back door, to the right, nothing blooming but pineapple sage pineapple sage (& california fuschia) getting going The right edge is the fuschia, strawberry guava in box against fence
