The Daily Bucket is a regular feature of the Backyard Science group. It is a place to note any observations you have made of the world around you. Insects, weather, meteorites, climate, birds and/or flowers. All are worthy additions to the bucket. Please let us know what is going on around you in a comment. Include, as close as is comfortable for you, where you are located. Each note is a record that we can refer to in the future as we try to understand the patterns that are quietly unwinding around us. |

We've done a lot of pruning, clean-up, some harvesting (the pears and original bean plantings, plus about 2 dozen blackberries on the 26th). I'm just going to cover new plantings, stuff with flowers or fruit, and similr highlights. This is all as of the 15th.
South from back door
reseeded italian parsley, succulents and geranium
faux junipers, gardenia, coffeeberry, fountain, apricot, guava
santa barbara daisy, path, pineapple sage, a bit of daisy miller, california fuschia, orange
there is a small cluster of CA fuschia blooms, one just visible in front of the orange tree trunk base
naranjas
potted celery and chocolate mint beneath orange
ribes with remnant fruit
milkweed and amaryllis, baby milkweed along walk
freshly planted basil in hanging planters
grapes, the board is a 2 x 6
grass, sage, pineapple sage, wild strawberries to left, redbud to right
coffeeberry and coffeeberries
gardenia, has been quasi blooming for weeks to months now
two boxes of basil and chard, one of basil and a bean, rhubarb and a roma tomato. Tomato is still producing and we just got enough beans for a meal off that lone plant
a better look at the basil and chard (they both need thinning)
the two rhubarb straddle the roma and some thyme, san marzano and cherry tomatoes behind
san marzano has a ton of green fruit, epazote beside it
epazote and bolted overwintered chard
the aforementioned chard, still producing some useful leaves
zukes, most of the product rots/dies on the vine, however.
The Island Mallow, pruned waaaay back
flowers, kale and beans
lemons
apple (they're falling at a great rate, it is past time to pick)
garlic chives flower heads, many more now, also now open
grass, salvia, geranium, part of a palm
mexican sage refuses to give up
another salvia
ditto
roses
